Walk-up COVID-19 vaccinations available at El Paso convention center starting Wednesday
People don’t need an appointment to receive a COVID-19 vaccination at the El Paso convention center at 1 Civic Center Plaza, officials said.
Vaccinations will be available from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
The change took place Wednesday.
The city also plans additional COVID-19 vaccine pop-up events over the next several weeks, allowing the community to walk up, register and get vaccinated.
• 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, El Paso International Airport, 6701 Convair Road
• 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, The Beast Urban Park, 13501 Jason Crandall Drive, and the El Paso Artists and Farmers Market, 117 Anthony St.
• 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 8: Valle Bajo Recreation Center, 7380 Alameda Ave.
“The City has worked diligently with our community partners to get the vaccine in our residents’ arms, and to improve the process so that we can distribute the vaccine with efficiency, as seen in our high administration rates,” El Paso Fire Chief Mario D’Agostino said in a news release. “El Paso is pleased to report that we have administered over 616,000 vaccines across the region. Nearly 40 percent of our community 16 years of age and older have been fully vaccinated and more than 60 percent of those 16 and older have received their first vaccine. Among our most vulnerable, those 65 and older, more than 70 percent are fully vaccinated and more than 86 percent have received their first vaccine.”

Vaccinations also are being administered through the city’s COVID Vaccine Clinics at 9301 Alameda Ave., 7380 Remcon Circle, and 220 S. Stanton St.
Residents also can register and schedule appointments for the vaccine with the city of El Paso by visiting EPCovidVaccine.com and clicking on the registration form or by calling 915-212-6843.
Health officials urge people to continue wearing face covers, wash their hands frequently and observe social distancing, regardless of whether they have received the vaccine.

First-dose COVID-19 vaccinations also are available on a walk-up basis at the El Paso County Coliseum, 4100 E. Paisano Drive.
University Medical Center of El Paso officials said the vaccination clinic at the coliseum offers the two-dose series Pfizer vaccine. Hours are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
