Bracing for a flood of calls from residents about water line breaks, the Pflugerville Fire Department has posted a video that shows how to turn off water service to a property.
“There’s little that the Fire Department can do other than turn off the water,” said Lt. Tim Wallace of the department's Risk Reduction Division. “We are working on a plan to increase our ability to respond to these requests.”

"We put this quick video together in hopes of a public education campaign to help folks help themselves in event of a leak and maybe lessen the burden on our response system," said Assistant Fire Chief Nick Perkins.
Since Monday, Perkins said, the department has responded to a total of 347 incidents, including nine calls for environmental exposures, 27 ice-related falls, 26 traffic injuries, and 22 calls for carbon monoxide alarms.
