Austin art collective hosts virtual auction to benefit racial injustice fight
Austin art collective Ladysmith’s of ATX is hosting a virtual maker auction on Instagram where proceeds will be donated to various Black women-run organizations.
Ladysmith’s of ATX was started in 2019 with the mission to “connect, empower and grow jewelry makers.” The group is now using its platform to host an online auction with female and non-binary makers to raise money for organizations fighting racial injustice in America.
The auction will end Sunday at 6 p.m. During the auction, the group will be posting pictures of items available, including jewelry, prints, pottery, and more, from nearly 100 local and national makers. Some local makers include a mini lighter by LM Adornment, earrings from Sapira by Sam Jacobson, a neck wrap by Slow North, and a necklace by Margot Wolf Jewelry.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit the following organizations:
All bids have a minimum starting bid. For further details on the auction visit the collective’s Instagram.
