Spider Mountain celebrates new mountain bike trails with opening party this weekend

Spider Mountain might sound like something out of a summer blockbuster, but it's actually one of the greater Austin area's hidden treasures.

The Burnet, Texas park is the state's only lift-served, year-round mountain bike park. This weekend, you can be one of the first people to ride on two new, aptly named trails -- "Tarantula" and "Recluse" -- with a celebratory ride at the Spider Trail Rumble Opening Party.
After the ribbon-cutting ceremony, mountain bikers can compete in the Texas State Whip-Off Championship, Wall Ride Competition and Spider Night Race. See the schedule below:
