Taco Bell wants to get in on your Thanksgiving dinner.

Every year, the company hosts a corporate Friendsgiving, where its food innovation team puts touch of Taco Bell on the holiday meal. I don’t know many people who serve soup at Thanksgiving, but this year, the team came up with a rolled chicken taco bisque that caught the eye of Austin360 Radio host JB Hager last week.

His co-host Whitney Stropp decided to make the soup and invite me in to the studio to taste it and record my response, without telling me about the Taco Bell twist.

Whitney doesn’t love to cook, but she made what was a surprisingly good soup that tasted like a creamy bowl of chicken enchiladas. (The chicken taquito garnish was a nice touch.) You could tell the bisque had tortillas, chicken and salsa in it, but it didn’t scream “late night fast food” like you might think.

You can find the recipe on TacoBell.com, but feel free to use the taquitos of your choice, either homemade or store-bought.
