Culinary education doesn't end after culinary school.

That's why the Austin chapter of Les Dames D'Escoffier expanded its annual scholarship program to include a stipend for working professionals who are pursing advanced certifications or career development opportunities. The local Les Dames chapter has given away $85,000 in scholarships over the past 10 years, mostly for culinary students, but in recent years, they've added this professional scholarship that could be used to attend the TEXSOM Sommelier Conference or Tales of the Cocktail.

The scholarships are open to women pursuing education in the food, fine beverage or hospitality industry. The deadline is August 29, and applicants can apply at, where you can also read about past recipients.
