SouthBites, a new cafe and coffee bar in the lobby of the brand-new SXSW Center in downtown Austin, will celebrate its grand opening next Monday, July 22 with complimentary coffee and food, as well as special discounts all day.

The first 100 patrons in the door beginning at 7 a.m. will receive one complimentary cup of drip coffee and one breakfast taco. Guests who visit throughout the day will receive a preloaded loyalty card with 100 points, which is worth about $10, and can post to social media using the tag @SouthBitesATX for the chance to win one of five $25 SouthBites gift cards.

From 3 to 6 p.m., SouthBites will launch its first Social Hour, a regular weekday happy hour that will offer discounts on espresso and coffee beverages, beer and wine, cheese boards and flatbreads. The cafe has plans to launch a signature happy hour cocktail menu in the near future.

The grand opening will also serve as the kickstarter for SouthBites' partnership with Austin Pets Alive! For each purchase of the SouthPaw -- an espresso, ginger beer and fresh mint beverage -- $1 will be donated to the animal shelter.

View the full SouthBites menu here. Coffee is sourced from local favorite Cuvee Coffee, as well as Barrett's Coffee Roasters for pour-over options. Food is provided by Pink Avocado Catering and features a full slate of breakfast pastries and tacos as well as lunch options that include sandwiches, salads and soups.
