How many chicken wings can you eat in a day?

The place to find out is the third annual Austin Chicken Wing Festival, also known as Wing-A-Rama, which is taking place from 1 to 5 p.m. on June 30 at downtown's Republic Square Park, 422 Guadalupe St.

More than a dozen local chefs and restaurants will be competing for the title of best chicken wing. Returning this year are Wingzup, which won people's champion last year, and Cover 3, which was the judges' favorite in 2018. You can also try wings from Nickel City's Delray Cafe, Tso Chinese Delivery and House of Rising Tanuki-san. The event, which started in Austin in 2017 and in Houston in 2018, will also feature a flaming hot chicken wing-eating contest.

Tickets ($30 for general admission, $50 for early entry at noon and $100 for VIP entry at 11:30 a.m.) are on sale now at wingarama.com.
