Downtown sandwich and pizza shop closes after almost 10 years
There is now one less place to grab a sandwich in downtown Austin.
What started as a food truck serving wood-fired Italian sandwiches in 2010, Lucky's Puccias and Pizzeria closed Saturday, according to a post on the restaurant's Facebook page.
According to CultureMap Austin, the sandwich shop cited rising rent as the reason for closure. “We wanted to stay there, but the landlord would not budge on the value of their properties, which are now going mostly vacant, which weakens the value of the neighborhood,” a Lucky's employee told CultureMap.
