For years, Crema Bakery & Cafe owner Jessica Forkner has donated boxes of cookies to children in the care of SAFE, the organization that is a merger between the Austin Children's Shelter and Safeplace.
Before opening her South Austin bakery, Forkner worked at a nonprofit that helped kids and their families, so the Cookies for Kids program is special to her heart.
Every $10 donation that Forkner receives between now and Dec. 23 will buy a box of cookies that will go to the families and children in SAFE's care before Christmas Day. To make a donation, you can stop by the bakery at 9001 Brodie Lane or by calling 512-282-1300.
