Austin Cheese Co. opens at the Arboretum with cheese, wine, beer and more
If specialty cheese is your jam, get ready to make toast.
Austin Cheese Co., a new specialty cheese shop, opened last week at the Arboretum, 10000 Research Blvd., and features artisan cheeses from around the world, as well as wine, craft beer, chocolates and other cheese accoutrements. There are also a selection of cheese trays and prepared foods that you can eat in the store or take home.
The cheese selection includes classics, such as clothbound cheddar and aged gouda, as well as lesser known cheeses, such as morbier-style goat cheeses. In coming months, customers can take "Cheese 101" tasting classes to learn more about the various kinds of cheeses on the market. You can grab beer or wine to drink along with the sandwiches, salads and cheese and charcuterie trays that are on the cafe menu. The store is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. You can check out the full menu, view upcoming classes and learn about the store at austincheesecompany.com.
