Menu additions at Fino and Olive & June’s

Fino (2905 San Gabriel St.) is offering a rotating five-course seasonal tasting menu of Mediterranean-inspired small plates for $35. The initial menu includes Spanish tapas of manchego cheese and ham, falafel, shrimp with white bean gazpacho, grilled steak and chocolate chiboust. Wine pairings are offered for an additional $30. Olive & June’s new executive chef, Justin Rupp, has added some summer pasta dishes to the menu at Shawn Cirkiel’s charming and hip Italian restaurant at 3411 Glenview Ave. Rupp, formerly of Cirkiel’s Parkside, will feature capellini with mussels, basil, lemon, lemon zest and breadcrumbs in a fresh tomato and olive oil sauce and a house-made ricotta ravioli with a parmesan corn sauce, roasted corn and Swiss chard. The menu will be updated throughout the summer. Olive & June also started Mezzo Monday, where wine and “piccoli piati” are half off all night. I recommend the cobia spiedini with the herbaceous salsa verde.
