In preparation for a five-day culinary tour of Italy this summer, Congress chef David Bull will host a series of dinners with an Italian menu and wine pairings.

Bull welcomes Jacopo di Battista winemaker and owner of Querceto di Castellina Winery in Tuscany for a five-course dinner at Congress on February 27. The meal will feature Bull’s take on Tuscan classics with pairings from di Battista’s winery. Tickets are $95 (excluding tax and gratuity) and seating is very limited. Reservations can be made by either calling 512-827-2760 or emailing, and asking for the “Tuscan Wine Dinner.”

In July Bull will lead the “Authentic Tuscany” tour in Central Italy, featuring five days of cooking classes and guided day-trips to several towns, including Florence, Siena and San Gimignano. Cooking classes will include a trip to various markets, an interactive lecture, and an opportunity to cook with the renowned chef in an authentic Italian kitchen. Guests will stay in a boutique vineyard in Tuscany.

“This will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. To have five days in July—together in a small group—the gastronomic possibilities are endless,” Bull said. “For me, the ability to go to the market and cook from the earth of my ancestors, and experience hyper regionality is extremely exciting. Combining the freshest of ingredients with a beautiful countryside, and community connection will certainly make for incredible memories.”
