Uchiko announces vegetarian omakase, tasting menu and social hour

One of Austin’s best sushi restaurants is getting serious about vegetables. Uchiko is rolling out a new monthly vegetarian 10-course omakase menu for two, as well as a regular five-course vegetarian tasting menu and a weekly vegetarian social hour. The two-person omakase menu, which the chef selects daily, will range between $160 and $180 and be available one night a month. (The date is yet to be determined.)

The five-course vegetarian tasting menu (which includes two eggplant and two avocado pieces, Uchi salad, komaki, kinoko nabe, and sweet corn sorbet) costs $51 and will be available daily starting August 11. That day will also feature the first of Uchiko’s new vegetarian social hour, which will feature discounted vegetarian plates every Monday.
