You know how the old song goes: “Let’s go to Luckenbach, Texas to eat food from food trucks and sip wine.” Or something like that.

The mythic Central Texas town will host the innaugural Hill Country Food Truck Festival on August 2 from noon to 11:30 p.m.

The day will include food from more than a dozen trucks, including Cheesy Jane’s, Clear River Pecan Company, Come and Get It Chuckwagon, Crazy Carl’s, KHILL BBQ Company, Mr. Meximum, Red Bud Roasters, Ritts Twisted Brisket, SaWeet Cupcakes, Slider Provider and SpiceSea Gourmet (none of which I really know much about) and wine from wineries including Messina Hof Hill Country, Kerrville Hills Winery, Fall Creek Vineyards, Texas Hills Vineyards, Singing Waters Vineyards, Becker Vineyards, Texas Legato Winery, Westcave Cellars Winery and William Chris Vineyards (with whom I’m much more familiar).

And since it’s Luckenbach, there will be live music, including performances from the Greencards, Milk Drive, Dan Dyer, and more. Tickets are $15 (kids 12 and under free), and proceeds will benefit the Texas Center for Wine and Culinary Arts (TCWCA), a planned 30,000 sq. ft. facility which will be located in downtown Fredericksburg. Ticket price does not include food or wine, which must be purchased individually from the food trucks and wineries. More information at LuckenbachTexas.com.
