Franklin Barbecue closing for two weeks. What changes can you expect?

Matthew Odam

Franklin Barbecue fans will have to find somewhere else to get their brisket fix in late June and early July. The restaurant will close from June 23 to July 7 to complete rennovations and complete a new smokehouse. A representative for Franklin says the addition of the smokehouse should solidify quality and consistency and allow for the restaurant to turn out more meat. There is a beef shortage affecting restaurants around the country right now, but once that gets sorted, Franklin hopes to up their output from 70 or 80 briskets a day to 100. Once they find their footing with the new smokehouse, Franklin hopes to add a take-out window by the end of the year.
