Burro Cheese Kitchen co-owner and X Games veteran shares some tips

Matthew Odam

The Statesman’s Pam LeBlanc wrote a very handy guide for watching the X Games, from descriptions of some of the biggest events to tips from experts and veterans. One of those veterans is Austinite BMX rider Aaron Ross. The 27 year-old has competed in 9 games, according to this piece from LeBlanc. In addition to magazine and video appearances, Ross also owns a line of shoes and bikes, and his own action figure. He is also co-owner of the Burro Cheese Kitchen grilled cheese trailer on South Congress Avenue. Check out LeBlanc’s preview of the X Games, with helpful tips on what to see and who to watch from Ross and Tim Reed, ESPN’s senior director of events and content for the X Games.

One of Ross’ tips:

Support the locals: “If you’re an Austin person, go watch Chase Hawk. He’s been riding Ninth Street his whole life. He’s the most stylish person in BMX. He’ll go 5 feet higher than everyone else and make it look better. It’s effortless. He’s like a surfer — he let’s the bike do the work. He makes it look pretty.”
