P. Terry’s coming to Sixth and Congress

Matthew Odam

One of Austin’s best known local chains is coming to one of Austin’s best known corners. P. Terry’s plans to open its 10th location at Sixth Street and Congress Avenue by the end of 2014.

“We’ve been doing this for nine-and-a-half years and this is the most exciting location we’ve ever had since we opened,” owner Patrick Terry said.

Terry said he’s been eyeing a downtown location for four years, and finally found the right spot to meet the space + rent + location equation. That exact location is 515 Congress Ave. in the old Extreme Pita location.

The restaurant will offer limited seating, take-out and delivery for large groups. Terry said they will serve breakfast weekdays beginning at 7 a.m. and will be open “very late” on Thursday-Saturday nights. Exact hours will be decided as the opening date approaches.

“The exciting part for us is that you’re catering to so many different crowds,” Terry said of the lunch crowds, tourists and late-night eaters.

“It’s the sweet spot.”

P. Terry’s downtown will offer the same menu items at the same prices as the other 9 locations.
