Kebabalicious leaving Trinity Street, joining the Picnic

Matthew Odam

The Picnic is getting a new food trailer. Popular downtown Austin food trailer Kebabalicious will move from its spots on Trinity Avenue to the food court that opened on Barton Springs Road earlier this year. The kebab (and salad) makers will open for business at the Picnic next Friday (August 29). The new location will include some items from the East 7th Street storefront, including the halal chicken kebab, zucchini fries and baklava. The trailer at the Picnic (1720 Barton Springs Rd.) will be open Wednesday-Monday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. (and until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday).

“We’re realy excited about this new chapter for our company and being a part of a food trailer community again … most importantly the security and peace of mind that comes with knowing that the Picnic will not be developed into a high-rise hotel – something we, and our new neighbors, are all too familiar with,” Kebabalicious co-owner Chris Childre said.

The Picnic is also home to trucks like Tapas Bravas, the Mighty Cone, Turf N’ Surf and more.

The Kebabalicious storefront in East Austin and the trailer at 7th Street and Congress Avenue will continue business as usual.
