Hickory Street moving from downtown to North Austin

Matthew Odam

A little over a year after taking over Hickory Street, Brendan Puthoff announced this week that he and his partners will close the restaurant later this year and relocate the long-time Congress Avenue fixture to Anderson Lane and Shoal Creek Boulevard in 2014.

Puthoff says customers can expect a new menu from chef and operating partner Camden Stuerzenberger at the “larger and more accessible space.” That description of the location sounds like a nod to the difficulty of navigating and parking downtown to walk to the Congress Avenue location. In addition to the new menu, Hickory Street will also feature a 1,000-bottle wine room.

Hickory Street is currently still open downtown Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
