Openings/Closings: East Austin gets two new grocery options
¦ Open: In.gredients, the long-awaited "packaging-free" grocery store at 2610 Manor Road. After making a huge splash in the media last summer, In.gredients opened its doors last weekend to customers looking for an eco-friendly way to shop for produce, eggs, meat, dairy, baked goods, bulk items and even beer with as little waste as possible. According to the website, "The majority of the items in.gredients offers are completely package-free, although some items may require packaging to meet food safety requirements." 275-6357, in.gredients.com.
¦ Open: Capital City Bakery, a trailer from award-winning baker Kristen Davenport at 1901 Rio Grande St. serving vegan baked goods, including oatmeal cream pies, cupcakes, sugar cookies and brownies. 666-7437, capitalcity bakery.com.
¦ Open: Texans Canteen, a food truck serving breakfast and lunch at Brazos and 15th streets to raise money for the Austin Can Academy, a charter high school on Rosewood Avenue in East Austin. texanscanteen.org.

¦ Open: Twisted Dish, a venture next to Hanovers Draught Haus at 108 E. Main St. in Pflugerville in partnership with catering company Catering With a Twist. ¦ Closing Aug. 31: European Bistro, the 11-year-old restaurant in Pflugerville, is closing at the end of this month. According to the website, a bar/tavern named Stein and Stem is set to replace it.
¦ Closed: Hang Town Grill, the West Lake Hills restaurant at 701 S. Loop 360 (Capital of Texas Highway).
¦ Closed: Green Muse Cafe, the coffee shop at Oltorf and South First streets.
¦ Chef changes: Jacob Hilbert has joined Zed's Restaurant as executive chef. Pastry chef Taff Mayberry has left Olivia and Lucy's Fried Chicken to join executive chef Rob Snow at Judges' Hill Restaurant.
