Last year, we had so much fun covering Maplewood Elementary’s Parent Prom. The fundraising event for the East Austin Elementary School is back. This time you can party like you belong in the Austin cult movie classic “Dazed and Confused.” In fact, you’re encouraged to dress like that movie.

It’s all happening 7-11 p.m. Feb. 8 at the site of Blue Genie Art Bazaar, 6100 Airport Blvd..

Parent Prom is open to everyone. It’s actually free to attend, but the suggested donation is $25. Expect to find a photo booth, music from the Recliners and DJ Girlfriend, as well as silent auction.

P.S. In the words of Wooderson, you can just tell your kids: “You just gotta keep livin' man, L-I-V-I-N.”
