What I wish I’d known about parenting 10 years ago

What do you wish you knew before your first child was born? For Father’s Day, Omar L. Gallaga, who is nearing 10 years as a father, imagines going back and talking to younger Omar, before his first daughter was born.

“Ten years from now, you’ll barely remember what it was like to not have children in the house. You will have trouble recalling a time when there weren’t Cheerios crumbs deeply embedded in the rugs and when you didn’t know all the words to the theme song from ‘Littlest Pet Shop.’

“But, lucky for you, things are going to be OK. Great, even.”
