Day of free dance classes at Ballet Austin in August

Get out of your comfort zone and move your hips during a day of free dance classes in August at Ballet Austin. 

The event is happening on Sunday, Aug. 25, and is located at the Ballet Austin's Butler Dance Education Center on 501 W. 3rd Street. Types of classes being offered include ballet, Bollywood, cardio dance, cardio hip hop, contemporary dance, flamenco, hip hop, Hawaiian Dance, jazz funk, jazz fusion, tap, West African and more.

Doors open at 12:30 p.m. and final classes begin at 5:00 p.m. Different classes begin at the top of every hour and last for 40 minutes with a 20 minute passing period. 

The event is geared towards adults and teenagers, but is open to all ages. There will also be a drawing where participants can win free dance classes and tickets to upcoming Ballet Austin performances. 

According to a press release by Ballet Austin, the event has approximately 2,000 participants every year.
