Josh Abbott Band tickets on sale this week

Josh Abbott Band’s brand of Texas country has carried the group from a fraternity at Texas Tech University to shows across the nation. The band’s latest release, an EP titled “Tuesday Night,” landed at number 58 in the U.S. and at number 12 on the country charts. They’ve planned a summer tour, a handful of festival shows, along with a show outdoors at Stubb’s BBQ on Sept. 25. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at stubbs.frontgatetickets.com.

Bastille Day party

Celebrate Bastille Day on Saturday with Austin’s Alliance Française. The family-friendly event features French food and drinks, live music from Christine Albert’s French Show and Chico Chico Hot Jazz, dancing, games and more. Proceeds allow Alliance Française d’Austin to sponsor cultural events and scholarships.

The festivities will be from 6-10 p.m. Saturday at the French Legation Museum, 802 San Marcos Street. Tickets are $15 in advance; $20 at the door. Children 8 and younger are free. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets. More info at afaustin.org.

Free workouts

Camp Gladiator will lead free Big Mega Workouts on the grounds of the Long Center, 701 West Riverside Drive, at 9 a.m. Aug. 1 and Sept. 5. For more information, go to TheLongCenter.org or call 512-474-5664.
