Bobby Bones to host Austin fundraiser
Country radio host Bobby Bones returns to Austin as the featured speaker for Caritas of Austin’s 8th Annual Words of Hope fundraiser at ACL Live. Before his radio show moved to Nashville, Tenn., in the fall of 2012, Bones hosted the top-rated morning show in Austin on KISS FM. Nationally, the Bobby Bones Show is now the biggest country music show with an estimated audience of 3 million listeners.
Bones was raised by a single mother struggling with addiction and was adopted by his grandmother. He was the first in his family to graduate high school and college. In his return to Austin, Bones will share his personal story and shed light on how Caritas of Austin helps local struggling families. His parody band, the Raging Idiots, will also perform after the program. Tickets for the Sept. 10 show go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.

Clark to tape ‘ACL’
In advance of the Sept. 11 release of his highly anticipated new album “The Story of Sonny Boy Slim,” Austin blues singer and guitarist Gary Clark Jr. will tape “Austin City Limits” on Aug. 24.
Check the show’s website, acltv.com, about a week before the taping for details on how to get tickets. This will be Clark’s second full ACL taping; he also appeared on the show’s 40th anniversary special last year, took part in a Jimmy Reed tribute in ACL’s 33rd season and made a cameo appearance with the Foo Fighters last fall.
