From left, “Statesman Shots” co-hosts Tolly Moseley and Omar L. Gallaga talk with Honest Dollar co-founder and CEO Whurley about his company and about his role in bringing President Barack Obama to Austin for a recent Democratic National Committee fundraiser.

Now that the smoke has cleared, it appears that Tyler, the Creator is once again welcome in Austin. The former Odd Future frontman comes to Stubb’s on May 29, two years and two months after he was accused of inciting a riot at Scoot Inn during the 2014 South by Southwest Music Festival. Those charges against him were dropped in February after he reached a plea deal, and he announced his triumphant return to our city this week. Tickets for the show go on sale Friday at c3concerts.com.

The Austin360 Amphitheater has added two shows to its summer concert lineup. On June 18, Grammy-winning country artist Darius Rucker will stop by with his Good for a Good Time Tour featuring Dan + Shay and Michael Ray. Then on Aug. 5, two headlining tours combine when 311 and Sublime with Rome take the stage for a memorable night of reggae rock. Tickets for both shows go on sale Friday at austin360amphitheater.com.

A kickoff party is set for 9-11 a.m. Saturday, with relays, wetsuit demos and giveaways. The first swim in the Distance Swim Challenge also starts at 9 a.m. Saturday. This month, athletes will swim one 750-meter loop of the quarry course. Each month through October, they’ll swim an additional lap. Races will take place the first Saturday of the month. Entry fee is $30 for members or $60 for nonmembers for the series.

The Open Water Race series and Splash & Dash series begin later this month.
