Goo Goo Dolls to play new Skyline Theater at the Long Center
Late last year, the Long Center announced plans to build on the success of popular summer community events like “Sound and Cinema,” produced by Do512.com and the Alamo Drafthouse, by establishing a new outdoor concert series on their terrace. The series is a partnership between the art house and concert promoters Nederlander Concerts and TAG Presents. For each show, a stage will be set up and then torn down outside the Long Center. The outdoor stage is to be called the Skyline Theater.
When the concert series was announced last year, there was no word on what kind of acts would be booked for the outdoor venue, which promoters say could host about 7,000 people.
This week, a tour announcement for ’90s rockers Goo Goo Dolls puts them at the new stage on Sept. 11. Collective Soul and Tribe Society will open the show. Tickets go on sale this Friday. More at googoodolls.com/tour.
