'Viva la Vida Fest 2009: 26th Annual Día de los Muertos'
For more than a quarter-century, Mexic-Arte Museum has been marking Día de los Muertos - the Mexican celebration of All Souls' Day - with a parade and arts-related festival. This year, the all-day street party includes a children's art activity tent as well projects by artists Federico Archuleta, Ana Salinas, Fidencio Duran and Regina Vater. Bands include Charanga Cakewalk, Bocastria, Peligrosa All Stars DJs, Mary Welch y Los Curanderos and Manuel `Cowboy' Donley. Performing artists include Teatro Vivo and Roy Lozano's Ballet Folklorico de Texas. Food vendors include Casa Chapala, La Mexicana Bakery, MMMpanadas, Oaxacan Tamaleo, Rio Grande Restaurant and Sazón. A parade features costumed street performers and low-rider automobiles. 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday. Parade from 6 to 7 p.m. Free admission.
