Bow-Wow Chow rolls in to Auditorium Shores
Saturday's the day that Lara Enzor has been looking forward to she's having the official launch party for her Bow-Wow Chow dog food truck at Auditorium Shores, where she gets to park for a week after working out a permit with the city.
You might have already seen the truck, which Enzor calls the first of its kind in Austin, adorned with cute and comical canines, at the Norwood Estates dog park or other dog-centric events around town. Bow-Wow Chow debuted in June, after Enzor's brainstorm last fall that led to buying a former snow-cone truck and starting the business. It's not selling breakfast tacos or Korean barbecue. It's all about the dogs, with organic, locally made treats in minimal packaging. Prices start at $1 for a single treat and bottle of water, and a six-pack to go is $3. They have specials, too, including ice cream for dogs from Groovy Dog.
Enzor said she plans to have the truck at Auditorium Shores from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. through Aug. 4, and the launch party is from 8 a.m. to noon today. All purchases at the party will include a free bottle of water, and the winner of a "best pet trick" video contest will get free treats for a year. The details on how to enter are at www.bow-wowchow.com/contest , where you can also see Bow-Wow Chow's complete menu
We recently interviewed Enzor, who also donates 5 percent of sales to a rotating list of Austin rescue groups. Auditorium Shores is at 800 W. Riverside Drive.
