ACL Fest releases single-day lineups; tickets on sale at noon
Austin City Limits Festival has announced this year’s single-day lineups, and single-day tickets go on sale noon Tuesday. General admission three-day passes to weekend one of the festival are sold out. Weekend two passes are still available.
Roughly speaking, the day-by-day breakdown features rock ‘n’ roll on Friday, when Guns ‘n’ Roses, Tame Impala, the Raconteurs and Thom Yorke and Tomorrow’s Modern Boxes perform.
Saturday spotlights ground-breaking genre-busters, as R&B/rap deconstructor Childish Gambino and alt-rock icons the Cure take top billing alongside dark-pop breakout Billie Eilish, hometown hero Gary Clark Jr. and spooky alt-R&B crooner James Blake.
Sunday offers an interesting mix of party rap and twang, as Mumford and Sons and Cardi B (weekend one) lead a bill that also includes fountain of positivity and magic Lizzo and modern country badass Kacey Musgraves. Swedish pop legend Robyn replaces Cardi at the top of the bill on weekend two.
Further down the ticket Friday, we have Tyler Childers, King Princess, R.L. Grime, Jenny Lewis and Katranada. Saturday’s bill includes Kali Uchis, Lauren Daigle, Hippie Sabotage, the Kooks and Judah & the Lion. Lil Uzi Vert, Rosalía, Rebelution, Griz and Bruce Hornsby are all in the mix on Sunday.
Several previously-unannounced artists have been added to the bill, most notably Canadian rockers Metric, who will play both Saturdays. Other new additions include Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors, Orville Peck, Wrabel and the Score who will play weekend two and Bones UK and Taela who will play weekend one.
If you're thinking it seems awfully early for ACL Fest to be releasing single-day tickets, you're right. Last year, they went on sale on Aug. 1 and the year before it was July 14. We suspect the speedy weekend one sell out and strong interest in Cardi B's weekend one only appearance is driving the early ticket drop this year.
