Austin glam pop sensation Sabrina Ellis and campy Minneapolis standout Sean Tillman, a.k.a. Har Mar Superstar, forged a fast friendship while touring together in 2016. While juggling Tillman‘s Har Mar responsibilities and Ellis’ bands, Sweet Spirit and A Giant Dog, the two began collaborating. They started releasing music together as Heart Bones in 2018.

Their debut album, “Hot Dish,” an exuberant platter loaded with with bombastic synth jams and post-modern disco grooves is set to drop on Feb. 22 and we‘re happy to premiere the video for their new single “Open Relations.”

Video director, Ed Dougherty said Ellis approached him with a concept for the video. “There's these kinda spacey sounds at the beginning,” they said. “And so we were thinking, since it's a song about an open relationship, what if I'm entering a new dating relationship with an alien and Har Mar is my jealous boyfriend who can't accept it?"

Dougherty enlisted “Heroes” actress Brea Grant to play the spacey new bae. In the video, Ellis introduces her to the wonders of life on Earth. Like dogs. And Dr. Dre. They cruise through Austin, swept up in the joy of a new romance, while Tillman, a hilarious portrait of envy and despair, skulks around in the shadows.
