After a six-year run, Dozen Street, a funky little neighborhood dive on East Twelfth Street that was home to a weekly Monday night blues jam and Butter N Jam’s soulful vibe sessions every Wednesday, is closing.

Whiskey Shivers headline the club’s final show on Friday. Mamis, Prom Threat, Queue Queue and Antelope will also perform.

On a public post to her Facebook page on Jan. 28, club owner Madi Distefano said she made the decision to close the club “so that I can do other things with my life.”

“I am very excited,” she said.

“Thank you for opening your doors to us to come in and release week after week,” Jonathan Deas, keyboard player and music director for the Butter N Jam sessions wrote on Facebook on Wednesday. He add, “Onward and upward... keep you all posted on the next Butter and Jam vibe session.”
