Canadian actor Noah Reid is best known for his portrayal of Patrick, the love interest of show co-creator and actor Dan Levy’s character, David on the cult favorite comedy, “Schitt’s Creek.” But Reid has also been quietly cultivating a career as a singer-songwriter.

He released his debut album, a collection of rootsy folk rambles, “Songs from a Broken Chair,” in 2016 and, after “Schitt’s Creek” wraps up its final season, he told Toronto publication CityNews, “I’m playing a bunch of shows and touring it a little bit in the States and trying to see what that feels like — to pretend to be a musician for a minute.”

The first leg of Reid’s debut tour swiftly sold out, but he’s added a second leg that includes an Austin date at Emo’s on May 10. Tickets to the show go on sale on Jan. 31 at 10 a.m.

In 2018, Reid topped the Canadian iTunes chart with a cover of Tina Turner’s “Simply the Best” that his character serenaded Dan Levy’s David with on season four of the show. According to Canadianbeats.ca, all proceeds from the cover were donated to the LGBT Youth line.
