Hard to believe it's been a quarter-century since Jack Black and Kyle Gass first brainstormed the zany lark that became Tenacious D, now a monstrous musical-comedy act with credits including albums, films and even a Grammy Award. Now, they'll bring the tour for "Tenacious D in Post-Apocalypto," their recent YouTube series, to Austin on Oct. 17 at ACL Live.
Tickets, $52.50-$75, go on sale May 10 via acl-live.com (with a presale event on May 9). Country duo Wynchester will open the show.
Black and Gass last visited Austin in the fall of 2018 during Fantastic Fest to premiere the "Post-Apocalypto" project, an animated series drawn by Black that first aired on YouTube episodically before being combined into a single-play movie.
