Alejandro Escovedo and Alesia Lani will play the first Longhorn City Limits concert of 2019 at the LBJ Library Lawn on Saturday, April 13, when the Texas Longhorns hold their annual Orange-White spring football game at Texas Memorial Stadium.

The pregame concert announcement follows previously released news that hip-hop acts Ludacris and Noah North will perform an after-game concert on the same stage. Both concerts are free and open to the public. Lani will open the Longhorn City Limits show at 4 p.m.; Escovedo follows at 5:15 p.m. with an hourlong performance.

Eclectic singer-songwriter Escovedo, a longtime Austinite who moved to Dallas a couple of years ago, gained national and international attention last fall with his new album "The Crossing," which deals with issues involving immigrants and the Texas-Mexico border. Lani, a fast-rising local R&B/soul singer, followed up her 2015 debut album "First Impression" with 2017's "Resilient."

The Longhorn City Limits concert series was introduced last year as part of the pregame activities for all Longhorn home football games. It's set to continue this fall.
