Where's the SXSW party at? City releases list of 2019 party permit applications
With only a few weeks before the South by Southwest Festival and Conference kicks off, the Austin Center for Events has released the list of organizations who have applied for permits to hold parties during the two weeks when the festival will take place.
Many longtime favorite free events for Austinites including the outdoor concerts at Auditorium Shores, South by San Jose at the Hotel San Jose and the Waterloo Records day shows appear slated to return for 2019. The Pan Americana Festival at the Mexican American Cultural Center and Lucy's South Austin Fried Chicken Revival will also be serving up free tunes.
There are also a number of events that most of us aren't invited to. These include the Fader Fort, which has run a scaled down event over the past couple years since Pine St. Station, the site of its epic heyday years, was taken over by construction, and the private dinner cocktail parties at Justine's Secret House.
But take heart, with over over 160 events on the list, it's likely that almost everyone will find a place to get their free groove on during the festival.
