After selling out its first year, Chingona Fest, an event designed to celebrate "Latinx culture, identity and values in the heart of Texas," will return for a second go round in April. This year, event organizers, Hustle for the Cause, aim to build on the success of the inaugural run, expanding the event to a two-day affair.

The festivities will kick off on Friday, April 5 with a day of panels and networking at the Studio ATX on East Cesar Chavez St dubbed Poderosa Platicas. Speakers for the event include City Council member Delia Garza, the first Latina appointed to the position of Mayor Pro Tem in Austin; Carisa Lopez, political director of Texas Freedom Network; and Samantha Najera, owner of HeartFire Media.

On Saturday, April 6, the party moves to Hops and Grain for a day of live music with the sensational Selena tribute act, Bidi Bidi Banda, local rock upstarts, the Tiarra Girls and La Misa Negra from California. The event will also feature food and arts vendors from all over the country.

After the main event, the festival will host an after party at Native Hostel with DJ Ella Ella, DJ Chorizo Funk and more.

Tickets to the networking event and the music festival are $30 each. After party tickets are $20. A $65 all-inclusive pass covers all three events.
