Ghostland Observatory to close out 2018 Longhorn City Limits concert series
Launched this year, the Longhorn City Limits concert series aims to put Texas football game days at the center of the Live Music Capital of the World with free shows before each home game.
The season closes out on Nov. 17, when electro-dance duo Ghostland Observatory will perform before Texas football’s home finale versus Iowa State.
The duo will be coming into town off a national tour supporting their new album, "See You Later, Simulator."
The album has throwback vibes from GLO’s earlier work, with thumping numbers such as opener “Paradise Lost,” “We Understand” and the title track “See You Later, Simulator,” drawing on their signature brand of electro-disco mayhem. But there’s a new sentimentality, a deeper emotional core to tracks like “Sometimes” and the soon-to-be-hit, “Miss Abyss.”
“It’s familiar enough for our old school fans to be like, ‘Aww yeah, they’re back. They’re doing their thing,’ but it’s also giving this new taste and keeping the story going. Chapter two. We’re turning the page,” GLO singer Aaron Behrens told the Statesman earlier this year.
The show is free and open to the public and Ghostland Observatory is scheduled to perform at 5:30 p.m. Representatives from Texas Athletics say an opening act will be announced at a later date.
