Topaz McGarrigle, leader of Austin’s art-jazz funk ensemble, Golden Dawn Arkestra, is doubling down on the group’s mission to spread good vibrations through immersive cinematic performance with the new album, “Children of the Sun.” The record dropped in June when the band was in the middle of their third European tour, and they finally get around to the business of hosting a proper hometown celebration on Friday, when they headline a free concert at Stubb’s amphitheater. The event is the centerpiece of Hot Summer Nights, a no-cover music series in the Red River Cultural District that is essentially Free Week in July.
