Austin R&B singer Mélat released her, brand-new music video for her song “Speed Racer,” on Austin360’s Watch & Win Live presented by Howdy Honda show. The video production was sponsored by Howdy Honda, who is proud to support a local artist like Mélat.
“Speed Racer” is an evocative and moody R&B track produced by Nate Coop and Paul Garza, and the video features sleek production from local creative wonder duo Peter Longno and Moyo Oyelola. They shot the video on a Friday night in Austin with Mélat and “a ton of creative lighting.” Mélat, who has been blowing up as of late, was selected as an Austin360 Artist of the Month, played the Austin360 Studio Sessions stage, was on the cover of The Chronicle and also was featured in the premiere Watch & Win Live presented by Howdy Honda series episode that was broadcast on the @austin360 Facebook page. She was featured on the Watch & Win Live presented by Howdy Honda because she was soon to take the ACL Festival stages. In fact, it was her first year ever attending the festival and she did so as a performing artist.
Born and raised in the Austin area— the Cedar Park High School and the University of Texas graduate brings an eclectic soul, big voice and cool style to her music, all of which shine in the music video for “Speed Racer.”
Mélat is coming off the release of her latest album MéVen—a personalization of the word maven, or “someone who understands”—and is gaining a huge following for her music, style and insights.
