Don’t want to shell out for a pass to Fun Fun Fun Festival like an ordinary civilian? Well start brushing up on your jousting skills, son (or missy). Once again, team Transmission is hosting the Fun Fun Fun Fest Aqua Olympics a zany, madcap pseudo-sporting event set to go down at Fiesta Gardens on Saturday, August 3.

Events include stand up paddle board jousting, potato sack races, belching contests and much more. A variety of prizes including festival passes will be available for the winners, the taco cannon will be deployed and local comedians Doug Mellard, Chris Cubas and Riverboat Gamblers frontman Mike Wiebe will be emceeing and providing commentary.

There will also be pro BMX riders and skaters on hand and the festival will announce the comedy and skate/ride programming lineups at the event. Registration and opening ceremonies begin at 4 p.m. with what will surely be a rousing rendition of the national anthem courtesy of the Austin Facial Hair Club. The games start at 5 p.m. Participants are encouraged to show up early as limited spaces are available. More information.
