  • In advance of Okkervil River’s new album, the band released a new song, “Down Down The Deep River.” Listen and check out an interactive map of Okkervil lead singer Will Sheff’s home town of Meriden, New Hampshire over at NPR.   • Orquesta Buena Vista Social Club plays the Long Center Oct. 2. From the press release: “The 15-member lineup includes Latin Grammy award winners Omara Portuondo and Eliades Ochoa, trumpeter Guajiro Mirabal, and laúd virtuoso Barbarito Torres, all of whom count themselves among the original members of Buena Vista Social Club.”
  • Austin-based band Wild Child will release a new, Ben Kweller-produced album, “The Runaround,” Oct. 8.
  • New shows at ACL Live include India Arie (Oct. 4), The Rides featuring Stephen Stills, Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Barry Goldberg (Sept. 21) and Florida Georgia Line (Dec. 1).
