With two full weekends of ACL Fest looming in the not-too-distant-hopefully-cooler future, it’s time to start digging into the lineup, so once again we start our daily band briefs.

In 50 words or fewer: One of the most popular and divisive bands of the last ten years, Vampire Weekend returned in 2013 with “Modern Vampires of the City,” expanding on their mash of pop styles. If their self-titled debut was Cape Cod, “Modern Vampires” is the hazy, gray New York featured on the album’s cover.

Reggae connection: The title of the album comes from the first line of Junior Reid’s song “One Blood.”
