ACL Fest scene report: Downtown-area hotel rooms still available

There’s still room at the inn, festival-goers.

The Austin City Limits Music Festival is typically one of the busiest times of year for Central Texas hotels. Rooms are scarce and prices are high.

But for those of you who waited till the last minute, there are a few options out there.

A quick noontime check of hotels.com shows there’s still availability tonight at a variety of hotels citywide, including a few in the downtown area:

• Super 8 Austin - University/Downtown Area, 5526 N. Interstate 35, $85
• Sheraton Austin at the Capitol, 701 E. 11th St., $169
• Hyatt Place Austin Downtown, 211 E. Third St., $239
• Hotel Ella, 1900 Rio Grande St., $285
• AT&T Hotel and Conference Center, 1900 University Ave., $349

Keep in mind prices fluctuate. The numbers you see here might go up - or even down - as the day progresses. So … hurry!
