In 50 words or less: Falconberry moved to Austin in 2004, and performed with Peter & the Wolf before making a name for herself with her delicate, enchanting folk songs. Last year’s breakthrough album “Leelanau” — inspired by the singer’s childhood home in Michigan — offers pretty orchestration alongside Falconberry’s childlike, fragile vocals.
Could share a bill with: Maria Mena, Sia, Joanna Newsom, Sufjan Stevens
Bunhead beginnings: Falconberry studied classical ballet and modern dance growing up in the Great Lake State, before ultimately deciding to switch her focus to making music as a teenager.
