In just over 50 words: The 22-year-old may reside in the city famous for birthing the Beatles and that Merseybeat sound, but Croll says artists like Paul Simon and Brian Wilson were some of his biggest influences. With his debut album released last year, he won fans for his futuristic, electronic take on the indie-folk subgenre that has been uber-present at all of the major music fests the last couple of years.
Could share a bill with: Savoir Adore, Sir Sly
Fever pitch: Croll was an accomplished rugby player who might have played the sport professionally, before a particularly severe injury sustained on the field forced him to retire at the age of 17.
