80’s and 90’s alt-rock supergroup The Pixies will hit town next spring with an Austin Music Hall date scheduled for March 1, 2014. Bassist Kim Deal, who left the band in May of this year will not be joining the band on tour, but the other original members, Black Francis, Joey Santiago and David Lovering will all be in the house.

The Pixies have been recording new music. After Deal left, the band slipped out new single “BagBoy” in June and dropped an EP of five new songs, “EP-1” in early September. The latter received a withering 1.0 rating on Pitchfork.

But lest you worry that this tour will overlook old faves, the band’s press release touts a new stage set and production and promises “the most wide-ranging set lists of Pixies music in the band’s career.”

Breezy California rockers Best Coast will join the Pixies on this tour.

Tickets go on sale Friday, Oct. 11 at 10 a.m. through C3concerts.com.
