C3 partners told the Statesman last week that ACL’s 2014 dates would be Oct. 3-5 and 10-12. After having to refund more than $5 million after Sunday’s cancelation, some on social media wondered if they might go back to a single weekend. But that’s not their style.
The festival announced today the dates officially. One of those weekends will be the first time ACL has scheduled their fest the same time as a Texas Longhorns home game, which they’ve previously avoided because there just aren’t enough hotel rooms for festgoers and visiting football fans. The other one will be during the Red River Rivalry against Oklahoma in Dallas. We’re not sure which is which because only the first three games of the 2014 Longhorns schedule have been confirmed. C3’s Charlie Jones said the home game will be against Baylor. It was chosen because Waco is only 100 miles away and Baylor fans could drive home after the game.
Also, at the end of this link , which tells you how to apply for a chance at $50 wristbands, ACL announces the return of a limited number of single-day tickets “due to popular demand.” This past ACL required fans to buy $225 three-day wristbands.
