Part of the buzz on the ground during weekend two of ACL Fest 2013 was that many tickets were going for below face value. This came up in enough casual conversations that I felt it was worth exploring in depth so I began informally polling groups in the crowd. Turns out the majority of folks did pay face value for tickets. Many bought their passes shortly after weekend one sold out. Others were coming in from out of town on long-planned trips. Some of these folks were a little miffed about how many of their fellow fest-goers scored deals on their tickets. Nonetheless, several people, even among the put off full pricers expressed how happy they were that the fest moved to two weekends this year.

As for the cheap tix challengers, here they are:

Courtney Alexander and Catherine Silvestri of Austin paid $120 on Stub Hub.

Megan Hendrix of Houston paid $120 on Houston Craigslist.

Stewart McKinney of Dallas paid $145 on Stub Hub.

Jonathan Hernandez of Houston paid full price but sold a few tickets to friends for $200, $150 and $50.

KK from Houston paid full price for her ticket and was not pleased about it.

Sarah Elizabeth McCandles of Austin paid $150 + fees on Stubhub.

And Jeff and Malorie Ely from Austin won the cheap tix challenge. Jeff haggled a Barton Springs scalper on down to $110/ticket yesterday.
